Maintenance Tasks

Assigned teams are responsible to complete the following tasks and to inform the Club safety Officer (Linda Braun) when complete and if there are any concerns about the boat conditions.

  • Clean and wax the hull
  • Check gel coat on all surfaces for cracks or other damage.  Report damage to the Maintenance Coordinator.
  • Assess boat trailers for rust, cracked wheels and related damage.  Report damage to the Maintenance Coordinator.
  • Assess seats – surfaces, screws.  Tighten seats if possible. Report loose seats to the Maintenance Coordinator if repair is needed.
  • Assess tarp for tears or weak stitching.
  • In the Spring, the storage cabinets at Lake Sumter and Lake Miona should be emptied and cleaned.
  • In December, the steering arm and oar must be refinished.  Gunnels must also be refinished.
