This is a list of local and regional dragonboating races where Grand Master’s competitive teams are likely to attend. This information is shared to show where GM teams are racing and to highlight results.

The Central Florida Dragonboat Challenge at Lessburg
This event is always a highlight of the Grandmasters race season. It is close to the Villages so we often get a lot of fans and family come to cheer on paddlers. It is also a time when new paddlers often are ready for their first race.

Tampa Bay International Boat Festival – April 25, 2026
The 4 Grand Masters race teams performed well at the Tampa festival.
The Silver Dragons won a SILVER medal in the Senior OPEN 10. The Silver Dragons also particiapted in the Senior Womens’ 10 finishing in 6th place.
The Leatherneck Warriors won a GOLD medal in the Master Mixed 10 event.
The Blackhearts win GOLD in Senior Mixed 20, and a GOLD in Master Mixed 20. The Blackhearts Senior Mixed also achieved a time of 1:58.51, more than 5 seconds faster than their competition and better than the fastest Premier Mixed teams, Saca Golden Dragons time which was 1:58.98!
The Eastport Sun Dragons earned SILVER in the Senior Mixed 20, and GOLD in Senior Mixed 10.

Of special note, the Blackheart Senior Open team achieved the fastest 300 meter time of the festival at 1:29.61 minutes. TBR gained valuable race experience and welcomed 85 year old Millie in her first race!


Nice to see all the team results. We as a club need to continue to support one another.
Next race in Tampa will have some of the best teams throughout the East. Training camps in Tampa end with these teams competing to achieve their best results.
