2026 Boat Maintenance Schedule
Maintenance Tasks
Assigned teams are responsible to complete the following tasks and to inform the Club safety Officer (Linda Braun) when complete and if there are any concerns about the boat conditions.
- Clean and wax the hull
- Check gel coat on all surfaces for cracks or other damage. Report damage to the Maintenance Coordinator.
- Assess boat trailers for rust, cracked wheels and related damage. Report damage to the Maintenance Coordinator.
- Assess seats – surfaces, screws. Tighten seats if possible. Report loose seats to the Maintenance Coordinator if repair is needed.
- Assess tarp for tears or weak stitching.
- In the Spring, the storage cabinets at Lake Sumter and Lake Miona should be emptied and cleaned. Each storage box on site has small repair kit for tightening screws or bolts. Captains should take care of small items as they occur. All other repairs should be referred to maintenance coord. Currently Frank Lupoli
- In December, the steering arm and oar must be refinished. During each inspection, check the gunnels for the quality of teh gel coat. Refinish the gunnels as needed and at least once per year.
Teams should check with the Maintenance Coordinator for available gel coat, sand paper and other needed consumables. Submit receipts to the Treasurer for any required maintenance purchases.
