Being a Villager is indeed a requirement to paddle with any of the Grand Masters Dragon Boat Club teams. However, there are two teams that paddle at the Lake Miona park just off Rainey Trail that accept non-Villagers: The Heat and the Dragon Sisters. I’m sure that both teams have a online presence that you can use to find contact information.

Once you have your Village ID in hand, you are welcome to come try out any dragon boat team in The Villages (except the Dirty Dozen which is for retired race team members). Contact any of the captains listed here on our website for their hours and how to arrange a practice with them.

There are several competitive teams in The Villages and you can see their information along with the contact information for each team on our website by clicking on the team’s name on the revolving carousel. You must be a Village resident, of course.
