SUNSET DRAGONS

Sunset Island Dragons is a year around non-racing dragon boat team focused on strong paddling and great camaraderie. We’re made up of experienced paddlers—some retired from racing, some active racers looking for extra water time—who want challenging, purposeful practices with plenty of fun mixed in. We occasionally welcome newcomers who want to try dragon boating, help them find the right fit, and encourage them to move on to a racing or recreational team. We practice at both Sumter Landing and Central Lake at Eastport.

Our goal is to be the best paddlers we can be through fun and vigorous practice; help others be the best they can be; and grow the sport in The Villages.

    Hello, I am visiting for the month of February in the Villages. I am presently beginning my 10th year paddling with The River Sisters Dragonboat Team out of Pennsauken , NJ.
    Would love to participate in a few of your practices while I am here, if that is possible.

      I have restrictions on our lakes that allow for only Villages residents… however, there is a team that would be able to accommodate you…
